Indico Privacy Policy

This registration system is managed by the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics. Further information can be obtained from the official Imprint.

This private policy is valid for all websites of the indico.mpi-cbg.de in addition to the privacy policy of mpi-cbg.de.

Processed Data

The data that you submit through the registration form, including any personal information, will be stored and processed by the relevant controllers at the MPI-CBG.

This data can be accessed, as necessary, by administrative staff to monitor and assist the registration process.

Purpose of Data Processing

Your data is processed for the purpose of organizing the event as stated on the participant registration page. Your contact information will be shared with the controllers relevant to this event and will be used to facilitate communication with you in the context of the event that you have registered for.

Your data will be stored for the entire duration of the event. The storage period can be longer, if there are any legal obligations to do so.

If you have consented to having your name workplace or other information displayed on the public participant list, the storage period will be extended for as long as it is relevant for historical purposeless.

We will delete any data that can be used to identify you, as soon as any legally obliged retention periods have elapsed and you have not given us your consent to continuing to process, store or display your data.

Third Parties

We may share your information with third parties, if it is a necessity for organising the event that you have signed up for. Third parties might be catering services who will receive the dietary preferences that you’ve shared with us. Hotels or other places of accommodation shall receive your name, duration of stay or any other relevant data in case accommodations are organised or provided along with the event.

We will only share the information that is absolutely necessary in order to provide you the service you have signed up for and expect.

We shall never share your information outside the scope of this process, and will never use your personal data for marketing purposes unless we have your consent.

Rights

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG), you have, among others, the following rights:

You have the right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you are processed, and, where that is the case, you have the right to request and get access to that personal data.

If any of the your data that we process is incorrect, you have the right to demand a rectification. We shall correct any erroneous information as soon as we are made aware.

You can object to any processing of your personal data and revoke your consent to have your data displayed on a public participant list.

If you wish to have your data erased, we will comply with your request. If you want to exercise this right before the beginning of any event that you have registered for, you won’t be eligible to participate in this event, since having your contact information is essential for organizing this event.
